Day Three Is All About Me...

Good Morning Blog friends..
Day 3 of summer vacation and my hands are dirty with paint, and I am loving life! It is way too hot outside for anything....and I'm not an outdoor girl these days anyway....

My daughter has set up a store front right in her room which is across the hall from my studio....she found an old typewriter and is set up for business...she is busy checking out her girls - we keep Build A Bear very busy...she is over there cooking and cleaning, and every so often, I poke my head in her room because her conversations are so real, I really would guess that there are other people in there with her...

I found this prompt over at A Year in the Life of an Art Journal, and I couldn't resist doing a page about..well, Me.

This is such an old photograph...but I still recognize me....it scanned very poorly, but, well, its still me! I was three, with my brand new glasses...dressed up to go somewhere and check out the hair! Problem number 1....I hated being in a dress. Back then, this gal would much rather be in her jean overralls and climbing a tree or playing in a big sand pile and losing my brand new glasses somewhere :)

I wrote all about me all over the page, then just started writing stuffs about me...like the fact that I truly am a worrier...I know its not good, but I am so human about it.
Enjoy your day...
Until next time,
Ophelia

Your story about your daughter and her girls is wonderful. Do you have a tape recorder or video you could hide for a bit. What a joy that would be when she gets older.

Love your page too. I have a photo I'm going to do that with. Thank you for the inspiration.

I love the color scheme you chose for this page and how you've used personal imagery! =)

This is a wonderful page -lovely expressive work and color. It is amazing to look at old (in my case anyway) photos of ourselves as children. We do see our characters already there at such a young age even though we haven't experienced much yet. Fascinating to do art in relation to those feelings.

Well just look at YOU! Dirty hands, lots of cool pages, and stuffs all about YOU!!! I love what you've been up to. I haven't been by in a while and have obviously missed a bunch! Glad you've been creating (and blogging) regularly. I must make it a habit to stop by more often. Enjoy your summer, Ophelia!

I am a huge worrier myself. :) Your page came out great, and that picture is just so cute. I'm so behind in 'the year in the life' group! Maybe I'll get caught up this weekend.

Thank you for leaving me a comment on my ROD. I was scared too, I hadn't sewn anything in about 25 years or so. It was so much fun though!

The vision of your little girl setting up a shop outside her room and talking to her "girls" is so cute and funny. I love that story. :) And I love the fact that you are having a great time on your summer vacation making art.

That old pic of you is so adorable, and I really like how you did your page. That is a great journal prompt.

Have a great weekend!
