My Journey...

Ok...first, I have a bit of a confession...
I am learning this "blog thing" and have found that I have been messing up all this time.
You see, when someone leaves me a comment, I get an email and hit reply to send them a message of some sort in response to their reply....
I didn't realize until recently...like Sunday, that some bloggers have a "non-reply blogger" address, so, my reply emails have been going out to blog universe somewhere and not to the actual person...ooops...
So, I truly apologize that you all might be thinking that Ihave not been sending thoughts right back to you, but...well, I'm learning....I now see why some people actually reply back at their original blog comment...live and learn!!!

I got an email from a wonderfully kind blog friend, Mary over at A Splendid Adventure, and was just completely inspired. She helped me understand that we all feel that our art just may not stack up to others....but, its our own journey...and just that little snippet from her completely helped me see that I don't have to compare myself to others (as I am oh so guilty of doing)....so guilty!

I am the world's worse at thinking that I will never be good enough, or noone will ever like this, or this is not at all what I wanted it to be...so I stop...and whatever it is usually finds its way into the garbage...but you know what....this is my journey....mine alone.... and each of us is creating our own...so Mary, my dear...thank you!!!

Blinders on, I shall create...art for me and my journey...you know what...it feels GOOD!!! I will enjoy this! I'm 40, remember!!
So, to you my blog friends....enjoy your journey as well, and it is so very nice to be able to share mine with you all!!!
Until next time,
Ophelia

I didn't know that about reply emails either. Oops.
And you are NOT the worst at thinking your art is not up to everybody elses. As I writer I learned that there are very few people who don't feel that way about what they create. And those few people usually aren't very nice to be around...if you get my drift. Just keep on a creatin'. I love your stuff.

Mary is such a good lady! and she is right. I've been painting for about 7 yrs and it has taken me this long to actually believe it. Paint what feels right to you.

Ha that cracks me up, because I did the same thing when I first started blogging. :)

Thanks so much for sharing that inspiring message. I'm so guilty of the same thing, and absolutely no good comes out of it. It isn't easy to stop those thoughts sometimes, but I'll try to remember what you say, that is my journey and no one else's! Thank You!

Yayy! Enjoy your journey, that's exactly what it's all about! We all suffer from inferiority complex from time to time, most of us are very critical of our own art. And by the way, if I leave a blog comment I don't really expect people to reply to me. I know sometimes I am just too busy to reply and I expect other people are too, so stop kicking yourself about it! Kate x

It's something we all have to remember. Truth is not everyone is going to like our stuff and that's okay, I keep telling myself that so it doesn't stop me from trying. So glad you dropped by my blog, I look forward to getting to know you better
