Happy Saturday...

Good Morning, blog friends!
First, I can't even begin to explain where the time went since my last post. I signed on this morning and was just shocked that its been over a week since I last posted!
So, lets back up for a second to LAST Sunday.....
What do you do when its a 100 degrees outside and feels like 110!!!!!! Welp, you play BASEBALL!

Thats right....for a non-outdoor gal, thats hard for even me to say...but, we had a blast....lots of cold drinks and frozen fruit...and fans and tents, so honestly, it wasn't so bad!
Now, as far as the studio goes...I finally even got to get to the studio around Wednesday...and had to have a bit of a pep-talk....
As you all know, I am the worst at comparing myself....I visit blogs and I'm truly inspired by the art that I see out there, but I also find that I want to try to "make mine like there's"....that only leads to frustration...and I found that I am frustrated because, well, its not really my work...
I also discovered, that although I have some ginormous dreams yet to accomplish, I stop very short each and every time....I don't know if I am just not willing to put in the work that it takes to get there, or if I am a "want everything YESTERDAY kind of gal, and just give up because "it" hasn't happened yet....so, I dream on, and plan more....only to stop short again...
I decided that I am planning my future - again....but for the last time. I am mapping it out, and gonna just dig in...and stay in this time.

So, I'm Jumping In..... "In" to lilfe...."In" to my dreams...."In" to my goals. Just getting off the sidelines of this game...and getting "In".
Much more to come...but for now....its off to yet another blazing weekend of baseball!
Until next time,
Ophelia

Ophelia this is such a great post!! I can relate to your comparing yourself to others, I DO THAT TOO!! To a lesser degree these days, since I began to do art that FEELS RIGHT FOR ME. So, as the tileof the current book says, KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.
Lovely journal pages here !

I also know exactly how you feel. I have been struggling the same way. I think it does help to journal these feelings and what will be will be! Your new pages are beautiful and I hope you can find some inner peace...

Hi Ophelia! Yes, I too gaze at many blogs, and magazines and so on and so on and it makes me frustrated too because I want to do what THEY DO---not what I can do. So you are not the only one! Your journal pages are absolutely lovely!

Keep right on being you, but somebody very wise (ie not me) once said to set long-term goals but make short-term plans. Good advice I think. Anyway, doesn't it occur to you that other people visit YOUR journal pages, compare them to their own, and take away inspiration ....??

Ophelia I so understand what you are saying. I can get so discouraged when I compare. When I do that my art begins to looks like crap to my eyes!!!!

I want to tell you I love your style of art journaling. Have since the first time I saw one of your pages!!!

And I understand the reluctance to jump into something. Something holds me back a times as well. It is a fear, but not sure I can name it yet!!

Keep creating in your fashion!!!

Hugs!!

Ah Ophelia, we all compare ourselves to others and get downhearted from time to time. But just keep on doing what you do because your journal pages rock! Love your use of Stampotique stamps in these pages .... Good luck with chasing your dreams :-)

I think all artists struggle with the question of how to be true...in fact, I think it is a question that probably pops up from time to time all throughout a career. From your work, it looks like you are diving in and getting right to the heart! I look forward to seeing more!

Ophelia! I LOVE your post. I am just sitting here looking at my desk and trying to work up the "pep talk" that I need to have with myself. Thank you for the reminder that we artists aren't all that different. We are constantly conquering fear. I know that you can do WHATEVER you have decided to accomplish because just being aware is most of the battle. And in the vibe of baseball..."just keep swinging!"
