Finally Friday...

What a busy week we have endured... I honestly don't know how our schedule gets so crazy...but we have been full this week...baseball games, softball games (sigh...yes we have another slugger) a chorus concert, a field trip, and tonight is my daughters Father Daughter dance...and thats just whats been crowding our evenings...
So, I steal away what time I can here in my studio just. To get away from all of the madness that goes on around here...

On My Worktable

Good Wednesday Morning guys!!!
Hope this post finds you all well. Wanted to drop in and show you whats been going on around here...

Finding some things in my studio that I haven't played with in a while just makes me happy.

I have been playing with embossing powders, and stamps....

Talk about good times.....and lets not forget about that collection of washi tapes that have been hidden for a while.

 

Even good ole fashioned transfers...

And lets not forget some collage sheets that have just been sitting around.

 

 

We spent some time at the beach last week....getting away is always a good thing for me.

 

Now of course, its back to real life....with lots and lots to do.

I am getting ready for a big teaching weekend....

Putzing Around Can Be A Good Thing...

I spent time in my studio this weekend...just rambling...I'm not even sure if putzing is a word...but thats kind of what I did. No real focus, just digging around through things...
Clearing some things out...moving piles from one place to another...just putzing.
What I discovered was it was a good thing. I found things that I haven't used in quite a while. Stamps, stencils, sprays...all the things I "had to have" and they sat...as more things I "had to have" came in the door...so you know what I did????.....I played with them...and it felt good!!!

Here is a page in progress with some of those "things" that I found that have not been played with in quite a while.  I realized that I have not been working in this journal in quite some time....and I also discovered that "putzing" totally takes the pressure off.

 

I challenge you to just get into your space and ramble around...or putz.  You never know what will come out of it.

On My Worktable Today

Its a cold,dreary, indoor kind of day...so, I found myself putzing around in my studio for most of the morning...
I actually accomplished a wee bit!
Now its off to baseball and softball...sigh.

This Poor Blog...

You know how you get to the point of where you decide that you are going to do something well, or not do it at all.  Where that is where I am with blogging...sigh....
I'm not sure of what is going on with me as to why I just can't make it over here more often.  I have great intentions, believe me, I do, but time just slips away from me.

I have been in my studio....daily...

 

Oh...its trashed all right.  It seems every surface is covered...and, its time to take a time out and clean things up a bit.

 

Even my easel seems crowded with....things...

 

Does anyone seriously need 5 spray bottles???  Sheesh!!

Yes...things need to be put away....

 

How can a person work this way, you ask????  I know!!

Spring Break is coming...and with a bit of a getaway, and some studio time, I will have this place ship shape in no time!

I just can't tell you enough how much I love having this monthly meetup.  And, honestly, I don't know how I was so lucky to get that job!!

Vegas Blast!!!

So... I was pumped, psyched, and a nervous wreck!!!!
I spent a week as the new Weber Acrylic demo artist at the Creative Painting Retreat in Vegas. All I can say is...what a blast!
I met the most amazing people, and learned so much...so, so much...it was the greatest!!!
I painted like crazy, and even filmed a dvd...lots and lots of laughs....and just had a blast!!!

Set up was fun.... but man, oh man, was it a lot of stuff...true candy store!!

They all painted, and played, and just let themselves be free....that was the favorite part for me...

What a true treat for me to do this....it was great, but this gal is oh so tired and truly happy to be home.
