Goodbye Sweet Summer...and Great News!!

Today was my first day back at it...

I am already frazzled beyond belief!!  No matter how much I try to prepare during the summer, I am simply overwhelmed going back.

Goodbye long days of playing in my studio, and naps, dear sweet naps, You will be missed incredibly...sigh..

 

So, on to my news... 

A while back, I posted this piece that I did on canvas...

You may recall all of the "issues" I have had to face with painting on canvas.  These issues have kept me from a long time goal of submitting work to shows...well, I found the courage to submit this to The N.E.W. Show at Visual Art Exhchamge in Raleigh, and you know what...it was accepted!!!

 

I could not even believe it when I saw my name amongst all the artists that were juried into the show!!

 

Again...I can not thank you all enough for such encouragement along the way!!!  This small accomplishment feels so amazing!!

One More Week....

Of summer vacation for me...sigh...where in the world did it go.

This will be a week of getting it all done...all the things that I ignored all summer--a mad dash to clean out closets, and things like that...so...I have to make this week count.

I did work on getting my studio organized..

Things are now sorted, organized and more importantly...off the floor!

I have my table space back...thank goodness!!

Extra paints are now sorted and stored...not all over the place.  I donated lots and lots of stuff...and, still have so much...sigh.



Seriously, Ophelia....how many journals do you need...seriously?????

Guess I'd better get busy, huh...

With things put away, I can now see my treasures!!  My friend Patti made this charm collection for me, and oh, how I love it.

Speaking of....I spent a day with Patti at her studio and I always get so inspired being with her...

Her table space just makes me sooo happy!!

I get so inspired by looking at other peoples work spaces...do you??



We played with lots of things...

I did this journal page with Dylusions Sprays...lovely!!!!

I always enjoy my time with her...I have found that being in your studio is lonely work sometimes...so, its so nice to have a tribe....

If I have not said so lately....thank you all so much for being a part of mine!!
