Crazy Busy...but still no excuse

Hi Everyone,

It has been crazy, crazy times around here....

For me, the hardest thing about being a teacher is the first day of school, and Monday morning was just that for me.

On last Friday, I bid farewell to my highschoolers, and moved into my new role as a middle school teacher. Monday morning was my first day back at middle school...and it has been a long week so far!!!!

I have been doing little snippets of art thanks to a great class with Gina called No More Excuses. I love how each day we just do little tiny snippets of things that don't take long at all, and you are still very creative...which right now, is exactly what I need.

I have not been able to do my usual blog tour lately, and I can tell you that I really miss the nice dose of inspiration that I get from going to your blogs. I am hoping to get back to regular business this weekend and will be back to your blogs soon!!!!

Just Add Gesso...

Good Monday Blog Friends...

I wanted to share with you what I have been doing with the CretaColor Watermedia set that I showed in my last post....

Literally, with this set, you can have years of play with only the addition of some gesso! I have had such a great time playing around with it.

I made this page using only the set and a few collage bits...its unfinished though...like so many other things around here...laundry, dishes, you get the picture...I'd better get going!

A Great Day for Play...

Its snowy here....and icy....which means a no school day, and for me....a day of playing pleasure!!!

This is my Cretacolor Watermedia set....and Good Golly Miss Molly, this is serious play!!!!! There are aquabriques (watercolors), aquastics (watercolor crayons), and watercolor pencils in this kit...just to name a few of the things....as I said....Good Golly Miss Molly!!

I did the watermedia demo at Jerrys on Sunday, and I just had the best time. Art stores for me are inspiring anyway, and to just be there, playing around for hours is just a tiny slice of heaven for me!!!

I wish that Jerrysartarama.com had insta shipping...where I could point, click, and...instantly products would appear at my front door..... because I just discovered two of my new FAVORITE colors!!!

Sennelier watercolors are just fantastic.....and man, oh man, did they just swoon me in with these colors... Brown Pink....I know, sounds like a strange color combination....but GOOD GOLLY, its beautiful!!!! And, Neutral Tint... I have been mixing like crazy for a few hours now just to see what different colors I can come up with....I'm in LOVE!!!

An Interruption in our Regularly Scheduled Art Journling...

Hi Blog Friends...
I just had to share with you a little of what I have been up to lately. Over Christmas break, I was cleaning....mainly in the studio...cleaning, digging, and purging.
A good dig gets me inspired...you know, finding all the stuff that you had tucked away and forgot about...
Well, here is what I have been up to....

I haven't touched my sewing machine in soooo long, and you know what....this felt good!!!!
I'll be back to some art journaling this weekend on Sunday at Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh...stop by Sunday 1-3 and lets have some fun with watermedia!!!

My Word for the Year....

I have thought of this, and thought of this for a few days now, and finally decided on a word for the year. Yeah, it was tough for me to narrow it down, but here goes....

COURAGE!!

One last thing....I, once again, have been thinking of something that I have always wanted to do, but never thought I could...well, its back to the drawing board for me....I WILL learn to DRAW!! Always, always, always wanted to learn....gonna give it my best try!

A Beautiful Sight...

I just love snow....REALLY love snow. It just brings out the kid in me...

Lately, however, I just like to sit inside and enjoy the view....but, my kiddos get up early and can't wait to get outside and play..

Well Everyone....

Today is my BIG DAY!!!! You know that day that I have spoken about for the last six months! My birthday is finally here, and its magical!!! I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for sharing in my journey....

BlogLand is such an amazing place....here, I am safe to share my hopes, dreams, successes, failures, happiness, and sadness....and you all provide such a constant inspiration, encouragement, and well wishes! I wish each of you a magical holiday season, filled with love, laughter, and creativity in the new year! Lets all make it a priority to make art, each and everyday! We have all been given such an incredible talent! I thank each and every one of you for being you!

Make it the BEST day ever! I'm gonna for sure....and, if you have any pull with the BIG GUY....that comes tonight....will you PLEASE let him know that I have been very good...kinda, and ask that he PLEASE bring my wish list from Jerrys!!!!
