An Exciting Revelation!!

How in the world did I left all of September go by without a single blog update...  How??

Honest...I get to my studio, almost daily, its the posting that never makes it out of my thoughts!!

I have had a revelation though, as it relates to my serious fear/frustration of painting on a canvas...

I have been beating myself up about not workin on canvas because somehow, I felt that once I started, I had to finish in the sitting...crazy I know, but that was just stuck in my head...Start today, finish with a bang...today!!!

I was druving myself nuts with "the pressure", then, it just dawned on me...I don't have to have all of the ideas ready and done in one sitting...kudos if I do...but a canvas can take weeks, right???

So, heres a start

Its a start, and it now sits on my easel to wait as I take some time to let it grow...and figure out what needs to happen next...sure is a lot less frustration that way...

It may completely change by the time Im done with it, but I'm totally ok with that...

What Matters Most...

Today, I needed a reminder.
Hello Blog Friends...I have to say, that back to school for me is always a giant adjustment.  No matter how much I prepare and plan, it always knocks me off my feet!

 

I needed a reminder today of what matters most...so, I made a list.  I realized as I started this page, that it has been quite some time since I have pulled out my trusty journal...., and although this page will proably get more added, today was a good start. 
I find that not only did I need a reminder of what matters most to me, but I also need the release of playing in my journal.  This year has already present challenges.  I find that at the end of the day, I am purely exhausted....like can't form a sentence exhausted!
I know that from this point forward, I will not focus on what is dragging me....but, more of the things that are here...on my list.

Ready to Roll

I somehow managed to vanish again my blog friends.  Off of the computer and into the swells of sweet summer.  Seems for a while, all I did was pack and unpack, but it was so worth it!  Lots of art happenings and great family time, and somehow, without warning, the calendar turned to August, and it all came to an abrupt end....its Back To School today in my little corner of the world, and honestly, I am not ready.  My son heads to high school...sigh...and my daughter to 3rd grade...me...cell block 130...8th grade hall...so...ready or not, its time to roll....

All I have done lately...is nothing in the art world it seems... A bunch of demos, and workshops, but no personal work...just no time, and I realized, my muse probably just couldn't keep up with it all... So, all I have for show and tell here is a record...a record of my days in my journal.

Just the day to day... Where I try to make sure to make time to record my thoughts...

Ii hope that you enjoy your day...enjoying the final snippets of summer, or getting ready to roll in your own way.

Wednesday Already???

Wow!!!

I have to tell you all...this gal has been schooled...in a great way though!!!

I had the pleasure of having 5...yes, 5 special artists in my latest Jerrys class...and collectively, they were a force to be reckoned with!!

Holy Moly they were a force!!!

Three full days of artistic explorations!!

Ok...had to snag these from someone elses phone because as you may imagine...there was literally no time for me to grab my camera...schooled, I say!!

Rough work, but so much fun!!!

I have been crazy with classes, demos, and preparing for more classes!!  Maybe my muse just hasnt had time to catch up with me!!

Straight into a teacher playtime at Jerrys...

Then a class with Joe at Jerrys...amazing!!

Not sure of how rhis came to be, but it was fun!!!  32x40 mixed media on paper!!

Well...that is my past week in review!!!  Gearing up to do it all over again next week!!!

Finally Friday!!

I have to admit...this week has been rough!  For some reason, I just can't get back into my groove.  It seems no matter what I do, I am just plain tired!!  I've tried kicking up the vitamins, drinking more water, going for walks...and of course, naps...but nothing seems to help me shake it...I guess as with my cleaning...its time to call in a professional!!

I wanted to share a few more pics that I captured while we were away...  First, my son had a blast!!!

These guys were just amazing...talk about friendships made to last a lifetime...

The team is so spread out that these kids don't get to see each other often...but they totally made up for it while away!!

Coming off of an injury, I was so happy that my kiddo played so well...a fracture in hos growth plate left him on the sidelines for 6 weeks...that was hard because he was not allowed to run, play, anything!!!  He was happy because at least it got him out of chores!!!

I am taking Mindy Lacefields Paint Your Story class...and I love it!!!

Gotta tell you though...faces are a bit tough for me right now and requires lots of that nasty "P" word...practice!!!

Loving Summer of Color!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!!
I am truly loving every single minute of Summer of Color!!  This weeks color combination was Sage and Sepia...  Read about it here:  http://twinkletwinklelikeastar.blogspot.com/
I had a blast doing this page and using these colors together...just so rich, and such an old feel!  Loved every single minute of it!!
So, here is my page...

My journal is getting so thick it seems quite hard to scan well, but here it is!  Having these challenges have been such a treat because my muse seems to be else where!!  I have no idea what is going on with me, but, I am just DRY!  Now that I am on summer vacation, I have all of the time in the world to create, and well, NOTHING!!  So, if you have seen my muse out there...romping around having a great time...will you please ask her to come home....she is desparately needed!!
So, hope that you all are enjoying your Monday.  We just returned from Tennessee...late last night.  Big new though...

We won the whole thing!!!  World Series Champions!!  Talk about an amazing experience!  This is something my son will never ever forget!

 

I have tons of pictures to share...so that will have to be a totally different post.  I told my husband as we were leaving that I could totally get into the baseball mom thing....then, I remembered the 100 degree heat they usually play in, and well, I'm over it now...

Summer of Color.....and, Its Not too Late!!!

You all may remember a few weeks back, I posted that my son and his baseball team would be traveling to Kingsport, TN to play....welp, its almost time, and it is not too late for you to help me get him there!!  I still have collage packs available...

So, here is my son, Stephen (a pic from his 8th Grade Formal.

So...we have been working like crazy to help him raise the money to go.  The coach gave each player a goal to raise the money that it would cost to go so that parents would not have to fork over the entire amount for them to play in TN for the week.  I thought that I would help him out by selling my collage packs to help his reach his goal.

So....

Ledger pages, pockets, tickets, foreign text...all sorts of stuff!!

Each pack is truly different...with all sorts of stuff inside!!!
