I Did It!!!

Stick a fork in it and lets call this turkey...DONE!

You may remember this canvas...it has just tortured me with its taunting...

So...I added some marks to it...because hey...what else could go wrong...right??

On Sunday, I spent the day painting woth my good friend Sharon

I had the greatest day ever!!!  We played for hours!!!!

And I kicked some canvas BUTT!!!

This was honestly the greatest feeling I have had in a while...kind of like a break through...or an "ah ha" kind of moment when things just clicked...and before I knew what was even happening...I completely let go!!!

That canvas that I was so afraid of before transformed into something that I actually liked!!!

So...I did some things I have NEVER done before...

I signed it...

I varnished it...

And had it framed!!!!

Greatest Day Ever!!!

Finally Friday!!!

Hi Everyone!  Hope your Friday is off to a great start!   I woke up super early today, and tried my hand once again at the canvas that is on my easel...yes, it seems to taunt me, so, I keep going at it..

In my last post, it looked like this.

Now we are here...

No idea where its going, but I will keep at it...sigh...

I'm not even sure of why I have such a love hate relationship with a canvas or why I can't seem to finish one...just no idea!!!

I live the no pressure of just playing around simply to wear down my pencils!!

No pressure what so ever!!!  Gotta love that!!!

After such a long, rough week at work, I am totally looking forward to a long weekend in my studio...using up some art supplies, playing around with no pressure, and yes, maybe wven making some more marks on that canvas.

Attempts at Another Canvas

Hi everyone...  Happy Tuesday.  I wanted to share with you some more attempts at  painting on canvas.  

I am not sore of why a canvas is just so tough for me...but it is...sigh

So...here is another I did...smaller size than the first...

And well another try on a giant canvas...

My problem is that I never know what to do next....

So then I started in with some oil pastels...don't even ask where this is going...no idea!!!  I was just trying to unleash a very rough day at work...and since today was even rougher...I will be sure to post pics of what happens to this guy!

Happy Monday...

Wanted to drop in and show you a little something I gifted myself with... Art Doodle Love!!
I got this book because I had seen so many others with it...and when I got it in my studio, I knew exactly what I needed to use it for...wearing my colored pencil collection down!!!
This has been a whole lot of fun!!
I have lots and lots going on in my studio...prepping for several new classes at Jerrys, and Im teaching again at Theresa's studio in June...
This party never seems to end...

Finally Friday...

What a busy week we have endured... I honestly don't know how our schedule gets so crazy...but we have been full this week...baseball games, softball games (sigh...yes we have another slugger) a chorus concert, a field trip, and tonight is my daughters Father Daughter dance...and thats just whats been crowding our evenings...
So, I steal away what time I can here in my studio just. To get away from all of the madness that goes on around here...

On My Worktable

Good Wednesday Morning guys!!!
Hope this post finds you all well. Wanted to drop in and show you whats been going on around here...

Finding some things in my studio that I haven't played with in a while just makes me happy.

I have been playing with embossing powders, and stamps....

Talk about good times.....and lets not forget about that collection of washi tapes that have been hidden for a while.

 

Even good ole fashioned transfers...

And lets not forget some collage sheets that have just been sitting around.

 

 

We spent some time at the beach last week....getting away is always a good thing for me.

 

Now of course, its back to real life....with lots and lots to do.

I am getting ready for a big teaching weekend....
